Okay! I know so many amazing, capable, and talented women! So many!!! Some of which are really doing some extraordinary things.
Some who are juggling family, finances, and friends and quite frankly seem overwhelmed, but you can tell that their life is full of “joy” for them.
And then you have some that just…you know flounder. Waiting for something or someone to present itself. In the meantime they just idle.
I’m very curious about you! What steps are you taking to leave your mark on this planet? Or are you idling?

Be Who You Want To Be
Since starting my career with Cookie Lee, Iʼve been trying to find ways to express the importance of accessorizing with jewelry.
Today, I inadvertently discovered a new way as I finished redecorating my downstairs office. I first worked with the big pieces of furniture until they felt balanced in the space. Next, came the medium-sized items like the plants, a floor lamp, and the pictures on the walls. The final touches were the books, candles, photo frames, and vases. It wasnʼt until these last pieces were in place, that the room felt finished; warm and inviting.
The same process for enhancing my home apply to my wardrobe. I start with the clothes Iʼm wearing, apply my makeup and style my hair. Then, I choose the
accessories that will pull the look together. Besides the process itself, one other element applies to both–first impressions. In an instant, my home and the way I
decorated it, express “me”. When someone steps through the front door, they have already made a decision about my social or financial status. They may decide what
kind of personality I have and most importantly, how much value I place in my home and my guests.
YOU are seen more often than your home. You have less than two seconds to make a first impression. What does your wardrobe say about you? Do you value yourself and treat yourself well? If you are certain that your appearance honestly expresses your personality, then proceed with confidence! If not, maybe itʼs time to reinvent your personal style. Rediscovering who you are and redesigning your look is a learning process. Most women wonʼt plunge into wearing dazzling statement earrings, if theyʼre used to wearing no jewelry at all. Our fear is usually not with the change itself, but more about what others may think about us. Weʼre nervous about attracting attention, or at least too much of it all at once. So, in keeping with treating yourself well, take it one step at a time and be patient.
Itʼs a new year. Resolve to be who you want to be–YOU!

A Woman with Heart!
I want you to know about “a woman who has impacted you”
I love to use my space and energy to highlight the beauty, brilliance and heart of another amazing woman. This space is for you to share a quick paragraph (or two) about a woman who has impacted you and you want the world to know about her.
It could be about your grandmother who you just realized has shaped you into the gracious woman you are today. Or your neighbor who went out of her way to check on you when you were sick. Or your boss when you were in your twenties who took time to teach you and you still are grateful for what she has done for you.
I get goose bumps in anticipation of the amazing stories that will be shared.
You don’t have to name names if you don’t want. Just gift us (and you) with gratitude.

If you’re like a lot of us in the “helping professions,” you spend more time helping others reach their goals than you help yourself. It’s easy to put yourself last, but by moving your desire to write a book to the top of the list, you’ll make your knowledge and experience more accessible to more people. Can you justify putting this off any longer? Don’t you owe it to yourself and to the world to get your book written?

Is your current reality a result of your quest for quick fixes?
How long did it take you to gain the weight you would like to lose? How long have you been creating the habit that has you procrastinating, running behind, making bad food choices, exhausted before noon, not honoring commitments, falling short on goals, not expressing your true self and you fill in the blank? How long have you been living with limiting beliefs that have you stuck in job, relationship, a life you hadn’t planned for?
It takes time to change! If you are looking for quick fixes -that may be the first change to consider to enable you to create the success you seek and live the life you have always imagined.

Listen to your gut!
Just watched Oprah today. Women – victims of a serial dater knowingly spreading HIV – “allegedly”, although the DA did bring in a DNA expert and the virus had one common trait in all the women tested and you guessed it. Frightening. These are all grown, successful and bright women.
I know this happens more than we like to believe. Maybe not to the extreme of what these women have experienced, but it happens. Ask yourself, not if you have, but when was the last time you went against your gut?
September 2000 I went against what I call a roadblock. I knew as sure as the car that pulled out in front of me that I shouldn’t meet this guy. I went anyway. That was the start of a living hell. He was calculating, convincing, abusive and a sociopath. Even today I have a hard time believing someone could lie so frequently and so much with no conscience. They’re out there and they don’t care.
Trust that little voice, your gut, the soft whisper. You’ve heard it before – remember it, trust it!
If you care to share your experience or thoughts – it may help another – it may help you to share it.
Wishing you wellness,
Teresa Rodden, CPC
