I love you, but am I in love with you?

Have you ever thought this before?  Maybe you have even asked it about a relationship you are in or a past relationship?  I was on my way home from my usual Sunday morning wellness walk counting my blessings, so grateful to be alive and for A Woman Divine.  It wasn’t always this way.  I have struggled most of my life trying to conform to others needs and wants, make money, look a certain way, always trying to find the right fit.  Most of the time a bit agitated, annoyed, restless, and always searching for something else.  At one time or another we have altered ourselves to try to please someone else only to discover, it’s just not a good fit.  So, I posed the question to myself this morning, “I love you, but am I in love with you?” and the answer was a resounding YES!  It felt amazing to realize this.  Why wouldn’t we analyze our self love the way we would any other intimate relationship?

Accept it and say “thank you” you deserve it and they deserve the reward of knowing you accept and appreciate their gift. This goes both ways. If you notice someone has a nice smile or a great presence about them, their kindness or whatever it may be – let them know – pay it forward. Practice this exercise everyday and you’ll feel fabulous! What I am asking is what is your motivational “preference” How are you fundamentally motivated? When it’s time to make a decision or take action what get’s you there? Do you make decisions internally or do you need to check in with others and see what they think? There is no right or wrong, but it can be extremely helpful to know what you need to take the next step! Just for fun – Daisy is thinking about starting her own Doggy Day Care and she loves dogs and couldn’t think of a better way to spend her time – she is inundated with ideas, concerns, concepts and overwhelmed. Now if she were a client I would ask her a series of questions and one would be “When you have made big decisions in the past have you made them on your own or did you check in with other people like your husband, sister, mentor, etc. before making the decision?” It could be that she is externally motivated and just needs to talk about her Doggy Day Care with her support system to gain clarity around her decision and take action. If she is internally motivated we would work on quieting down all the other popular opinions and discover what Daisy truly wants. Make sense?
