Because it’s the work that I do and the women who I get to work with that enrich my life and give me the ability to live joyfully and feel fabulous. We should all be accepting of kind words. How many times has someone paid you a compliment only for you to refuse or dismiss it? It’s like refusing a gift. Trust that the person who has just told you “You look beautiful”, “You have a great smile”, “You’re brilliant” knows what they’re talking about. Accept it and say “thank you” you deserve it and they deserve the reward of knowing you accept and appreciate their gift. This goes both ways. If you notice someone has a nice smile or a great presence about them, their kindness or whatever it may be – let them know – pay it forward. Practice this exercise everyday and you’ll feel fabulous! Rhonda Gast Independent Cookie Lee Consultant www.CookieLee.biz/RhondaGast “Make a Statement Without Saying a Word” What is your “Motivational Preference” I’m currently leading a group through a Self Discovery and Goal Achievement Program and we just covered motivational preferences.Think about what I might mean when I ask “What is your motivational preference?”   Some may think “success” or “money” or “being thin” are motivators and they are. What I am asking is what is your motivational “preference” How are you fundamentally motivated? When it’s time to make a decision or take action what get’s you there? Do you make decisions internally or do you need to check in with others and see what they think? There is no right or wrong, but it can be extremely helpful to know what you need to take the next step! Just for fun – Daisy is thinking about starting her own Doggy Day Care and she loves dogs and couldn’t think of a better way to spend her time – she is inundated with ideas, concerns, concepts and overwhelmed. Now if she were a client I would ask her a series of questions and one would be “When you have made big decisions in the past have you made them on your own or did you check in with other people like your husband, sister, mentor, etc. before making the decision?” It could be that she is externally motivated and just needs to talk about her Doggy Day Care with her support system to gain clarity around her decision and take action. If she is internally motivated we would work on quieting down all the other popular opinions and discover what Daisy truly wants. Make sense? So are you Internal or External in your motivational preference? Next time you are making a decision pay attention! You may just surprise yourself and make the process a whole lot easier.
